Bio Expo Japan 2005 - May 18-20

September 22 2005

The 4th International Bio Expo Japan in Tokyo on May 18-20, 2005 proved to be a huge success, with record-breaking numbers of exhibitors (465, up from 428 in 2004) and visitors (15,406, up from 13,795 in 2004).

Four special exhibit zones grouped bioinformatics, bio-imaging, biochip and bio contract research services.

Interest was very high for the academic forum; it was standing room only for the 100 fortunate researchers from universities and national laboratories presenting their latest studies, as presenter applications were taken on a first-come basis and thus disappointing some prominent institutions.

New to the forum in 2005 was the partnering/licensing forum, with 19 presenting companies (13 from overseas). This new feature is anticipated to generate many new partnerships between Japanese and foreign companies.

There were too many aspects to cover, from the International visitors' lounge to the keynotes and technical conference sessions...not to mention the finely-tuned processes that eliminated the typical registration and session ticket bottlenecks.

Interested in attending or exhibiting in 2006? It'll be held in Tokyo on May 17-19. New in 2006 is the Venture Forum, sure to be popular.
