There was standing room only at Battelle's presentation of its new report. Mitch Horowitz's overview covered both the encouraging growth in most bioscience sectors and the challenges still facing the industry.
Bio tech covers 4 major sectors:
* Agricultural feestock and chemicals
* Drugs and pharmaceuticals
* Medical devices & equipment
* Research, testing & medical laboratories
Employment grew in all but the drug sector. Mr. Horowitz noted that pay in biotech jobs iacross positions is attractive, nearly always exceeding median pay for similar work in other industries.
